Bob McTavish gets writers cramp!!
The Bob McTavish book signing in KIRRASURF was so successful we had to provide 2 extra marking pens to keep up with the demand for Bob's signature. There was a line out the door made up of local legends, supporters and core surfers, all waiting to shake hands with Bob in person. KIRRASURF helped grant that wish and Bob was "Stoked" with the support.

was shot over the Kirra hill at Neverland. I showed him a few of our latest boards

remote area of West Sumbawa, Scar Reef. David Scard from
World Surfaris located upstairs at KIRRASURF picked this
swell a week out and instead of booking everyone else on
a stealth trip, he locked it in for himself and came back in
need of some new underwear!! You little beauty

Huge KIRRASURF event to help coastal awareness! 11.09.09
Enjoy the sites of Coolangatta and sounds of great bands on the beach. Live music just down the road from KIRRASURF and across the road from one of the worlds best right hand point breaks! This is going to be a fun filled few days in the sun. Kirra Surfstock is a celebration of the Kirra surfing culture and to raise awareness of the ongoing need for coastal management of our beaches. KIRRASURF is heavily involved with this event and jumped at the chance to support it!

KIRRASURF’s surfboard technician slash ex Pro Surfer come Rock star Mathew Pitts, is just about to launch his new album “RIDE”.
Pittsy has been a prominent Pro Surfer competing on the ASP world tour for 3 years and then taking out the ASP Asia Championships twice. He is well known in the surfing fraternity not only for dominating line ups but also for entertaining thousands on stage with his music! After months of dedication in the sound lab Matty now launches his much anticipated CD at Café Le Monde (next door to KIRRASURF).
This event is going to be OUT OF CONTROL!!! Even famous Comedian Dave Eastgate has agreed to MC the gig and I predict crowd capacity with standing room only. Get in early and book a table if you plan on eating. The gig will be held on the 7th of November at Café Le Monde from 4pm.

NEW RANGE OF JS BOARDS WITH COMPLETE RUN DOWN
Parko’s new signature model boards have just hit the isles at KIRRASURF. Parko has fine tuned his latest range with JS. Jason Stephens himself has spent hours at KIRRASURF giving us the run down on the new bottom curves, plain shapes and how they make the board functional. Part of being the showroom for the worlds best board designer is having intimate knowledge of his boards and a solid relationship JS himself.
There has never been a better time to come in and check out what the current Number 1 surfer in the world is throwing around under his feet, along with the rest of the JS’s surfers who are dominating the planet.
The Sixth Annual Billabong Occy Grom Comp Finalised at Kirra Surf
The Presentation and announcement of the Occy Grom Comp
was held in house at Kirra Surf. The Billabong bus pulled up out the front and Kirra Surf was packed to the rafters with some of the worlds best up and coming surfers as well as previous world renouned veterans.
After five full days of top class, grommet surfing, Australia’s premier junior tournament drew to a close, with champions crowned across five respective divisions.
Occy oversaw the opening day of his grommet event before jetting off to South Africa to compete against three-time World Champion Tom Curren (USA) in a ‘Clash of the Icons’ at the Billabong Pro at Jeffreys Bay. The powerful goofy footer could not pass up on the opportunity to face Curren on the legendary point break which he is renowned for surfing backside better than anyone.
