Check out the first-ever screening of “TransparentSea” this Sunday 7th of March @ Kirrasurf. This 44 minute flick covers Dave Rastovich’s life changing surfing, sailing, enviro odyssey chasing whales down Australia’s east coast. The trip took 36 days and the message was heard world-wide! Now there’s rumours of Discovery Channel, Nat Geo and even Ellen Degenres trying to get in on the act.

Worldwide boards are becoming SMALLER, FATTER, WIDER and everyone’s onto it including the pros.
The board options are endless and the diversity in the new range has to be seen to be believed. Below I have noted KIRRASURF’s fastest movers and shakers and the reasons why they are the most sort after boards in the world!
The SONIC is a snub nosed board that is versatile and extremely fast! This little pocket rocket is surfed 4"-6" smaller than your usual board but still maintain buoyancy. These boards get up and go faster than your standard board and make small wave surfing far more enjoyable.
The NITRO & V2.1 boards look similar in shape but have a whole lot of difference through the bottom curves and fin set up! Some of the best surfers in the world (including our local champ Parko) are calling these the FUNNEST BOARDS THEY HAVE EVER RIDDEN!
The CV8 is a cross over board, something between a high performance board and a fish, or mini-board as they are often referred to. This board excels in all conditions and wave heights.
The SIGNATURE MODELS range from small wave, semi-gun to guns and have now been tweaked for all surfer’s shapes and sizes. These are high performance boards and follow what each of the pros actually ride. PARKO is well suited to across the board and combines a bit of volume through the middle and refined rails.
BRUCE is what the light guys prefer to ride but the average weight surfer can also get away with his boards too.
OCCY & LUKE models are better for the mid to heavier guy because they float well and have a lot of volume through the board.
The all new JORDY was initially for the taller heavier guy but has now also been down sized for the guy that is liter but loves Jordy’s shapes.
WETSUITS
KIRRASURF’s all new wetsuit range has now got some crazy flex and lightness about them! A result the average guy who has had the same wetty for a few years would be blown away by! KIRRASURF’s new range for of hardware is crazy at the moment!
The leash range for example -Dakine 5 3/16 is perfect for smaller days....very little drag that allows for more speed and frees up the tail. Still strong and right on the money!
GRIPS
The new Jordy Deck Grip has just hit the shelves as well as a new full range of ANDY & BRUCE grips. The PARKO range for decks grips and leashes have been a huge success.

JS Industries News – Jordy Smith Signature Model - IN STOCK NOW
With Jordy Smith joining the JS Industries family recently, we are now only weeks away from the anticipated release of the Jordy Smith signature model. Kirra Surf will be the first store in Australia to stock Jordy’s signature model, so be sure to come in and check it out. Jordy’s boards will be available in varying sizes, from the exact dimensions that Jordy rides, down to sizes for smaller groms and young whippets. The board will be instore soon, so stay tuned for an arrival date.
Jason Stevenson, (JS) and Jordy have been working together for a number of years and have gained some great results. In 2008, Smith spent the year trying out other surfboard brands to see what worked best for him, but has returned to ride for JS full time due to his past success with Jason.
"The tractor (JS logo) is iconic to the JS brand, and Jordy has had great success on our boards in the past." Said Stevenson. "He has won many qualifying series events on our boards, and who could forget his unforgettable 3rd place in the Billabong Pro (Jeffrey’s Bay, South Africa) in 2006 on a tractor board. I am glad to be working with Jordy again and am proud to have him on our team."
